Thanksgiving 2010 - a visit from Grammy & Papa!

In November my parents came to Michigan to visit us for Thanksgiving. We had so much fun with them!

The kids were completely spoiled by Grammy and Papa!   They were read to and cuddled galore...

They spent lots of fun quality time together...
cooking...

playing with toys...

 looking at Ben's Kindergarten artwork...

Dad, Mom, Eliza and I went to the Henry Ford Museum one day and saw all the big trains, classic cars, and lots lots more...

Eliza and Papa checking out a very huge combine...

For Family Home Evening, we colored turkeys together. It was fun!

Grammy and Papa had some sweet artistic talent! A few days after they left, Ben colored the other side of their turkeys, copying the design his grandparents made. I thought that was cute. :)

This is Papa's:                                This is Ben's copy on the backside of his:

This is Ben's (on left) reproduction of Grammy's turkey (on right)...

Sammy was a good boy while we all colored.  He is such a sweetie.

One afternoon, my Dad started to get sleepy while he was reading to Eliza and so she let him take a nap... She tucked him in with blankets, and then started giving him her stuffed animals... From there I guess she thought he might want to snuggle with Ben's sword (see it in his hand?) and have Sam's blue bumbo seat on top of him too (??)  When Jed saw her piling toys on top of her sleeping Papa, he took a few pictures. So hilarious!

We had so much fun having them visit. We love you, Mom and Dad!

Sam's Army Crawl

The first clip is of a Saturday morning when Ben didn't have to go to Kindergarten, and when Jed was off work. We all had a very fun morning enjoying being together!
The second clip is of Sammy army crawling. He can get across the entire room if he sees something he really wants.
The third clip is of Benjamin reading to us. I found a series of chapter books at the library and took Book 1 home, and he loved it! I need to go get a bunch more for him.
(Ben is 5, Eliza is 2 1/2, and Sam is 7/8 months old.)

Like mother like daughter?

Me, two years old, I think.  Eliza, two and a half years old.

it's Halloween!

We had a great Halloween! On Friday, I took Eliza and Sam to see Benjamin's school costume parade. And you won't believe this, but we caught sight of SPIDERMAN while we were there!

And he actually waved to us!

Samuel missed out on that excitement.  He lazily gazed out at us all from his cozy and warm little spot.
After the parade, we went to Ben's classroom party.

On Friday night we all went to our ward's Trunk-or-Treat party.  Sam was a little dragon. Daddy was a.... a dragon tamer.

Mommy was a witch, and Eliza was a ballerina.

And now we are making ourselves sick with candy. Eliza ought to be on her deathbed if over consumption of candy really made a kid sick. She can open the wrappers herself and is having a heyday! Today at lunch she opened up a big tootsie roll and I intercepted her saying she needed to eat lunch first. She wanted to put the tootsie roll next to her plate while she ate. At the end of her meal, I went to the counter to put butter on a roll that came out of the toaster and when I turned around, this is what I found:
A piece of tootsie roll on each portion of roll. And she was eating it like that. As if the tootsie roll was a glob of peanut butter on her bread or something. Too funny! This pretty much sums up how we have been eating the past three days!!!!
