My friend, Britni Hamblin, and I went to Greenfield Village on July 19th with our kids. We walked along the historic village streets and enjoyed riding on the steam-powered railroad, watching the glass blowers, going on a horse-drawn wagon ride, watching a dramatization outside the original Wright Brothers' Cycle Shop, going around the antique carousel, and taking a ride on a restored Model T.
Initially, neither Sam nor Eliza were thrilled about being on horses that rose up and down as the carousel went around, but by the end of their ride, they were having fun. :)
Here were are getting a ride in a Model T. Obviously I was not ready to take this picture, but I have to include it because little Charlotte is so sweet and chubby!
On the 21st, we went to the "Roar on the River" hydroplane races at Elizabeth Park. We went along with Tyler & Aimee Smith and Ben Johnson and their kids. It was a fun outing!
On July 28th our ward had a Pioneer Day Picnic. The kids decorated their bikes and were in a little bike parade. It was a fun activity.
We had to wake Sammy up to go to the party, so he is still clutching his beloved Blanky. :)
